Zion Arendtsville UCC loves to engage in outreach and missions - and we demonstrate this love in many ways!  From chicken BBQs to bake sales to mission trips, from Undies Sunday to laundromat ministries to building houses, from making soup and bread for those who may find themselves in need to supporting our veterans to providing weekly meals for local children, and much, MUCH more!

ZION UCC AND HABIT FOR HUMANITY

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. They believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. Zion Arendtsville UCC supports Habitat for Humanity and volunteers to help build homes.

ZION UCC AND HOFFMAN HOMES

Hoffman Homes

Zion Arendtsville UCC works with Hoffman Homes – a residential treatment facility for emotionally disturbed children. We provide school supplies and help to support their creative therapy programs.

Matthew 25

Working through local social service agencies, our Matthew 25 fund provides funds for local residents in financial crisis.

ZION UCC AND OUR VETERANS

Supporting our Veterans

Zion Arendtsville UCC has a team of people who serve our local veterans and act as advocates for veterans issues. We also support the Face of America Veterans Bike Ride.

ZION UCC AND HOMEWOOD AT PLUM CREEK

Homewood at Plum Creek

Zion Arendtsville UCC supports the residents at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover with gifts and cards during the Christmas season.

ZION UCC AND JOHN'S MEALS

John's Meals

Zion Arendtsville UCC initiated a program called “John’s Meals” where we partnered with other churches in Upper Adams Christians Together (UACT) to provide weekend take-home food for hungry children in the Upper Adams School District. 100+ meals are provided on a weekly basis from our fellowship hall.

ZION UCC AND TRIVIA NITES

Trivia Nites

Our Trivia Nites offer church and community members the chance to raise money for charitable organizations in a fun-filled atmosphere.

ZION UCC AND ICE CREAM WALKS

Adams County Ice Cream Walks

The Adams County Annual Ice Cream Walk Fundraiser is created by the Healthy Adams County Physical Fitness Task Force. The event occurs during the open hours of each of 8 participating downtown Gettysburg ice cream stores, and the entire route is 2 miles long. Proceeds support the free walks, hikes and 5K events sponsored by the task force.

ZION UCC AND SOUPER BOWL

Souper Bowl Sunday

Souper Bowl Sunday is a special Sunday when we collect soups to help children in our community. It is part of Souper Bowl of Caring, a movement that inspires people across the nation to tackle hunger in their local communities.

ZION UCC AND THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

United Church of Christ

Zion Arendtsville UCC regularly participates in, and supports, the offerings that benefit the wider church through our denomination, the United Church of Christ.

ZION UCC AND COMMUNITY AID

Community Aid

We have a partnership with Community Aid, we often hold clothing drives for them as a church, and many of our members directly donate their clothing to Community Aid.
