CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Christian Education atZion UCC

We believe that Christian Education is at the heart of our mission and ministry, and vital to our stated mission of making disciples.  Our Sunday School program is nursery thru 6th grade.  Classes begin at 10:15 a.m. and are held every Sunday (September through May).  We use a rotational program which includes story/movie, arts/sciences, music, games and creative cookery, and they pertain to the theme each month.

The children learn songs that they sing during church for the congregation. We celebrate the church holidays including activities for Easter and a Christmas pageant. We have Spring and Fall special activities such as roller-skating, bowling etc. The children also pick a mission project every year and they enjoy Bible School in July, (which we share with the Trinity Church).  We participate in programs with UACT (including “What's Cooking”) during the school year and we hold movie nights in the summer.

Zion UCC is committed to being a “safe sanctuary” and toward that goal we follow recommended guidelines such as childline clearances for all adults who work with children. Our safe sanctuary policy is available for review at any time. Our program is led by our CE Coordinator, Chris Byers.
