We Gather In Awe And Wonder
Announcements – Bible and Sunday School Pin Presentation
Chime Interlude And Candle Lighting Response
Leader: We light a light in the name of the God who made heaven and earth.
All: We light a light in the name of our Lord, whose love has been poured into our hearts.
Leader: We light a light in the name of the Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth.
All: We light three candles because all praise and glory is yours, O God – Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier.
Praise Response: “Jesu, Jesu, Fill Us with Your Love”…..….#203, vs 1, 2
*Call To Worship
One: Come, friends, from every corner of the earth.
All: We come to worship the one who created us and all living things.
One: Imagine: We bear the face of God to all living parts of creation.
All: We come to celebrate our place in the vast scheme of creation. Our God, Maker of the universe, cares about each and every one of us. We bring our hearts and voices to sing praise to God.
One: Come, let us worship God.
*Hymn: “In the Midst of New Dimensions” ……………#315
Leader: We gather here this morning in the presence of our Creator and one another, to pause from our day to day living. We come to take some time in our busy lives to renew our faith, to reconnect with God, and to know ourselves loved unconditionally. As this message is reaffirmed in our hearts, take us from this place to proclaim that message to all we meet. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
We Recognize Our Brokenness
Prayer Of Confession
Leader: Jesus said, “I came not to be served but to be a servant.” We know this is an example we are called to follow and yet we so often find it difficult.
People: We want to be served; we want to be important; we want to have our needs met.
Leader: Forgive us, loving God. Stretch us. Open our hearts to experience and celebrate the true joy that comes from serving others.
People: Draw out from us a desire to be a part of a serving community, where each of us shares a concern for the needs of each other, and none are forgotten. Amen. (A time for silent prayers of confession.)
Assurance Of God’s Forgiveness
One: God has made us – all of us. And God loves us – all of us – as if we were God’s favorite. So be assured that, as you seek to realign your hearts with God’s, you are forgiven, and loved unconditionally.
All: Thanks be to God. Amen.

The Sacrament Of Baptism For
Born December 28, 2016, to Carly and Ryan
Born March 10, 2017, to Matthew and Jaclyn
Leader: They were bringing children to Jesus that Jesus might touch them; and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, Jesus was indignant, and said to them,
People: “Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs the realm of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the realm of God like a child shall not enter it.”
Leader: And Jesus took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands upon them.
Leader: The sacrament of baptism is an outward and visible sign of the grace of God. Inasmuch as the promise of the gospel is not only to us but also to our children, baptism with water and the Holy Spirit is the mark of their acceptance into the care of Christ’s church, the sign and seal of their participation in God’s forgiveness, and the beginning of their growth into full Christian faith and discipleship.
People: This is the water of baptism. Out of this water we rise with new life, forgiven of sin and one in Christ, members of Christ’s body.
Questions For The Families
Pastor: Do you desire to have Teighan and Cole baptized into the faith and family of Jesus Christ?
Family: We do.
Pastor: Will you encourage Teighan and Cole to renounce the powers of evil and to receive the freedom of new life in Christ?
Family: We will, with the help of God.
Pastor: Will you teach them that they may be led to profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?
Family: We will, with the help of God.
Pastor: Do you promise, according to the grace given you, to grow with your children in the Christian faith, to help them to be faithful members of the church of Jesus Christ by celebrating Christ’s presence, by furthering Christ’s mission in all the world, and by offering the nurture of the Christian church so that they may affirm their baptism?
Family: We do, with the help of God.
*Congregational Assent (Please stand)
Leader: Jesus Christ calls us to make disciples of all nations and to offer them the gift of grace in baptism. Do you, who witness and celebrate this sacrament, promise your love, support, and care to the ones about to be baptized, as they live and grow in Christ?
People: We promise our love, support, and care. (Please be seated)
Blessing Of The Water
Pastor: Bless by your Holy Spirit, gracious God, this water. By your Holy Spirit save those who confess the name of Jesus Christ that sin may have no power over them. Create new life in the ones baptized this day that they may rise in Christ. Glory to you, eternal God, the one who was, and is, and shall always be, world without end. Amen.
Act Of Baptism
Prayer For The Baptized
Pastor: We give you thanks, O Holy One, mother and father of all the faithful, for these your children and for the grace acknowledged here today in water and the Holy Spirit. Embrace us all as sons and daughters in the one household of your love. Grant us grace to receive, nurture, and befriend these new members of the body of Christ.
All: Give to the newly baptized: strength for life’s journey, courage in time of suffering, the joy of faith, the freedom of love, and the hope of new life: through Jesus Christ, who makes us one. Amen.
Reading Of The Gospel: Mark 10: 41-45 (N.T., pg. 44)
