 Welcome to Zion and a special welcome to our visitors. Please sign the guest book!  If you do not have a church home, we pray that you will find one with us.  We have large-print bulletins available, as well as hearing assistance devices.  Please ask an usher if you require either of these.  Restrooms are located in the church school building.  Go through the door next to the choir and straight ahead.  We also have restrooms downstairs in Fellowship Hall.  Again, exit through the door next to the choir, turn left down the hall, and go down the steps.

*Where noted, please stand if able.

Congregational response is in bold print.

God is eager to answer us, even before we call.

God is eager to listen, though we are not ready to speak.

The hills sing together before God’s presence.

All of nature proclaims God’s glory.

If the seas join in praise, how much more should we.

If the hills are alive with song, let us, too, awake to sing.

Make a joyful noise to God, all people of the earth!

Break forth into joyous song!

Be glad! Rejoice in all that God is creating.

Welcome the new heaven and earth God has planned.

We worship God with great joy and delight.

We welcome God’s healing touch in our midst.

As we gather, some of us feel battered and bruised by a brutal world.

Some of us are drained of strength and weary, parched as a desert.

Some of us are feeling strong, celebrating life and love.

And many of us are just here, living each day at a time,

just trying to meet each challenge as it comes.

Whatever our needs, and whatever our station in life,

we come to you with praises,

grateful for your presence in our lives.

 *GATHERING HYMN # 738 “O Master, Let Me Walk With Thee”

We are a people who claim to have wisdom

and yet fail to use our gifts in ways that are wise.

We are a people who claim to be understanding

and yet fail to discern God’s will for all.

Let us approach our wise and understanding God

as we confess our sin and failure with humility.

All too often, Lord, we find it easier to criticize than to encourage;

to give advice than to give a hand;

to scheme than to sacrifice;

to complain than to compliment,

to argue than to agree.

Forgive us, we pray, and help us to truly serve.

 And now let us confess in silence those fears that keep us from loving as Christ has loved us.

God is our deliverance and our honor,

our rock and our refuge; we will trust in God at all times.

As we make our honest and sincere confession before God,

We will experience freedom from the burden of our sin

And new life that allows us to serve God and others.

Thank God for this magnificent gift of love.

* HYMN RESPONSE # 475 “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing”   v. 3

O to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be!

Let that grace now, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee.

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love;

Here’s my heart; O take and seal it; seal it for thy courts above.

*HYMN # 697 “Take My Life”

Our Father who art in heaven,

Hallowed by thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done

On earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our sins

As we forgive those who sin against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the kingdom,

The power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have,

for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

*OFFERTORY RESPONSE # 717 “For the Life That You Have Given”

For the life that you have given, for the love in Christ made known,

With these fruits of time and labor, with these gifts that are your own;

Here we offer, Lord, our praises, heart and mind and strength we bring;

Give us grace to love and serve you, living what we pray and sing.

We consider it a privilege to invest our tithes and offerings

in a cause that will never fail.

We are investing in human beings,

who are both mortal body and eternal soul,

so we give in confidence that our investment will never be lost.

*CLOSING HYMN # 346 “For the Healing of the Nations”

As you go from this place, may the loving power of the Lord guard your body and save your

soul until Christ brings you at last to the heavenly places where he lives and reigns forever.

*CHORAL BENEDICTION # 353 “My Hope is Built on Nothing Less”  v. 2

When darkness seems to hide his face, I rest on his unchanging grace;

In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand; all other ground is sinking sand;

All other ground is sinking sand.
