Love Expressed through God’s Creation

Trinity Sunday

We Gather In Awe And Wonder

Leader:         Holy Spirit, Creator, as you hovered over the waters, cover us with the light of your presence.

All:               Holy Spirit, Comforter, by you we are born again, cover us with the light of your holiness.

Leader:         Holy Spirit, Redeemer, by you we are made a living temple, cover us with the light of redemption.

All:               Breath of life, you breathe light into the whole body of the Church and dwell in each one of us.

*Call To Worship

Voice 1:        Let there be light and dark with us; let the waters meet the shores amidst us.

Voice 2:        Let the sky be open to your fullness; let our feet be grounded upon the earth in this moment.

All:               It is good.

Voice 1:        We gather from days of light and after evenings of night.

Voice 2:        We are called this day into a moment with all of creation to worship.

All:               Good it is.  Amen.

*Hymn: “God, You Spin the Whirling Planets” ………………#23

All:               Open to your creation, we come.  Like a wave falls onto its shore, we come.  Like a bird lands in its nest, we come.  Like the first star of the night appears, we come.  O God, help us to come with open hearts for worship this day.  Amen.

We Recognize Our Brokenness

Prayer Of Confession

People:        Creator God, in the beginning you created all things and said that they were good.  Forgive us for the times in which we do not treat creation as if it is good, or worthy of our love.  Help us to be more fully a part of the creation that is all around us.  Help us to journey with you, on this path

unknown, with all that you created so that we can continue to nurture your world and live in your way.  Amen.   (A time for silent prayers of confession.)

Assurance Of God’s Forgiveness

Leader:         God loves us amidst our searching for wholeness, Christ walks with us along

our own stories of beginning again.  Spirit moves among us with the rhythm of all of creation.  Truly, it is good!  Amen.

(Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  Amen.)

 *Prayer Of Dedication

Leader:…….. In the movement of waves, in the beauty of the creatures, in the starkness of the sky, in the beating of our hearts, you have given us so many gifts.  May this small token be a gift that can be used to better the creation around us.  This we pray.  Amen.

We Go Forth To Live Transformed Lives

*Closing Hymn: “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise”……..#12

Leader:         As we go out into the world, let there be light and dark with us.  Let the water meet the shores amidst us.  Let the tree bend from the wind’s power.

All:               Let the sky be open to your fullness; let our feet be grounded upon the earth in this moment and in the moments to come.  It is good.

Leader:         Let us go committed to God’s world. Let us live in Christ’s gentle and inspiring way.

All:               Let us move with the Spirit as it moves over the earth.  For, it is indeed good. Amen.
