United in Love
Visitors: Welcome to our church. Please sign our guest book! If you do not have a church home, we pray that you will find one with us. We have large-print bulletins available, as well as hearing assistance devices. Please ask an usher if you require either of these. Restrooms are located in the church school building. Go through the door next to the choir loft, and straight ahead. We also have restrooms downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Again, exit through the door next to the choir loft, turn left down the hall, and go down the steps.
We Gather In Awe And Wonder
Chime Interlude And Candle Lighting
Leader: Holy Spirit, Creator, as you hovered over the waters, cover us with the light of your presence.
All: Holy Spirit, Comforter, by you we are born again, cover us with the light of your holiness.
Leader: Holy Spirit, Redeemer, by you we are made a living temple, cover us with the light of redemption.
All: Breath of life, you breathe light into the whole body of the Church and dwell in each one of us.

One: As we greet this new day,
All: we come together as one.
One: In our differences
All: we come together as one.
One: In our uniqueness,
All: we come together as one.
One: In our offering of hospitality to others,
All: we come together as one.

All: we come together as one to worship. Amen.

Leader: Christ, you hold us in your warm embrace. You already welcome each of us exactly as we are, and you hold us close to you. Your embrace gathers all of us into a community that you have created.
People: And yet, in your community, there is always room for more. You teach us to welcome one another. We are thankful that with you, each of us has a place, and each one of us can find a welcome home. Amen.
We Recognize Our Brokenness
Prayer Of Confession
Leader: Peace-seeking One, we come before you as a sometimes-divided people. We sometimes play favorite when we shouldn’t, hold grudges instead of forgiveness, and allow difference to separate us instead of bring us together.
People: Help us to celebrate the differences among us rather than allow them to separate us. We ask this in the name of the Christ. Amen. (A time for silent prayers of confession)
Assurance Of God’s Forgiveness
One: God cares for each of us, not simply in spite of differences, but rather in celebration of our differences. As we reflect God’s diverse image to the world, we know that it is God’s love that we all have in common.
All: Thanks be to God. Amen.
