Easter: Christ Is Risen
Visitors: Welcome to our church. Please sign our guest book! If you do not have a church home, we pray that you will find one with us. We have large-print bulletins available, as well as hearing assistance devices. Please ask an usher if you require either of these. Restrooms are located in the church school building. Go through the door next to the choir loft, and straight ahead. We also have restrooms downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Again, exit through the door next to the choir loft, turn left down the hall, and go down the steps.
We Gather In Awe And Wonder
Chime Interlude And Candle Lighting
Leader: We light a light in the name of God who lit the world and breathed the breath of life into us.
People: We light a light in the name of the Son who saved the world and stretched out His hand to me.
Leader: We light a light in the name of the Spirit who encompasses the world and blesses our soul with yearning.
All: We will light three lights for the Trinity of love: God above us, God beside us, God beneath us; the beginning, the end, the everlasting one.
Introit: “An Easter Jubilee”…………………Nix/Graham

*Hymn: “Jesus Christ Is Risen Today” ………………..…#232
One: God of life, thank you for the night: for those who kept watch through its long hours; for the gift of sleep, and the refreshment of dreams; for your faithful presence that keeps us company when we are not aware of you;
All: Thank you, God of life!
One: God of life, thank you for this new day: for the song of birds, the early morning bustle of city streets, and the brightening sky; for this day of all days when we celebrate the risen Christ;
All: Thank you, God of life!
One: God of life, thank you for the message of Easter: for the affirmation of your steadfast love; for the presence of the One who overcame death; for the promise of life still to be revealed;
All: Thank you, God of life!
We Recognize Our Brokenness
Leader: Good Friday is past, we celebrate on this side of the cross, and we speak of life from death. Come now to the feast of life that takes all our past and redeems it with life. Come to the table for the host is waiting with the bread of life and the cup of salvation.
Prayer Of Confession
One: God of life, creation shouts your presence,
All: but we do not always know where to find you.
One: God of life, your Spirit is in all who love and do good,
All: but we do not always recognize you.
One: God of life, your promises give us hope and confidence,
All: but we do not always understand or believe. (A time for silent prayers of confession.)
Assurance Of God’s Forgiveness
One: The God of love does not give us over to death but offers us life; the Spirit of Jesus gives us a song of joy to sing.
All: We are witnesses to the life of the risen Christ! Alleluia!

We Reflect On New Possibilities
Message For This Day
Affirmation Of Faith
All: We believe in an Easter God who creates and re-creates, who gives abundant life and is with us through all that life may bring. We believe in Christ of the Resurrection who appeared to his disciples and became present in a new way to those who follow him. We believe in the Spirit foretold by Jesus who came with power and wonders who gives strength and consolation and empowers us. Amen.
*Hymn: “The Day of Resurrection!”……………………..#233
Pastoral Prayer And The Lord’s Prayer
(Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.)
Our Offering: Our financial offering is one way that our members participate in the mission and ministry of this church. We thank you for your financial support. For those of you who are visiting, please feel no need to participate in the offering. This worship service is our gift to you.
*Doxology: “Praise God, from Whom All Blessings” ……………….#606
*Prayer Of Dedication
Leader: God of life, you invite us to share life. We offer these gifts of good and money and pray that they may bring life and hope to those who receive them. Amen.
The Order Of Holy Communion
Leader: Jesus—companion and Saviour—unfolder of alleluias, bread-breaker, life-giver, grave-dancer, wine-sharer, stone-roller, gardener, returned. Here is our thanksgiving gathering with all those who have ever gathered round this table meeting your promise in this story that pulls death from the world and redeems it with life. May this bread break open your wondrous story. As we share it we give thanks for what has been done for us. May this wine spill your promise into the world. As we share it we give thanks for what you have done for us. Great God of resurrection bringing life from death, light from shadows, adventures from question, authenticity from lies, we sing with all the angels,
All: Holy, holy, holy God of new and transforming life heaven and earth are full of your glory, hosanna in the highest. Blessed is the one who comes in your name, O God: hosanna in the highest.
Leader: In our thanksgiving may we live as the Body of Christ within the new covenant sealed for all for the forgiveness of sins. We remember Jesus the Christ always. (Please be seated.)

We go from here, strengthened, refreshed, and empowered by your Spirit to make our living and working, our loving and doing and thinking, a true and joyful ministry in your name. Amen.
We Go Forth To Live Transformed Lives
*Closing Hymn: “Thine Is the Glory” ……………………….#238
