Zion participates in HACC scholarship project

Through the generosity of our Zion family, we presented Harrisburg Area Community College, Gettysburg Campus, with a check for $3000.  Pictured here in the HACC nursing classroom is Shannon Harvey, campus vice president at the Gettysburg Campus, Pastor Kim Blocher, and HACC  President John Sygielski. It is for the Community Endowed Nursing Scholarship program, which will provide tuition assistance for local students in the nursing program.  The overall goal for the fund is $30,000.  HACC is the  second largest educator of nurses in the state, with more than 500 nurses graduating from one of HACCs campuses every year.  The Gettysburg Campus itself has graduated 270 nurses in the RN program. Being a partner in education and job training programs has been an important part of Zion’s outreach for some time.  We also provide money for scholarships for veterans.  Helping students reach their dream of a career in the medical field and improving the quality of our community life is a win-win for our church!  Thanks to all who support our church and enable us to be an important part of our community life.
