Reach Work Camp 2013

A combined youth group of 17 teens and 8 adults from St. Jacob’s Stone Church, Emmanuel Hanover, and Zion Arendtsville attended the 2013 reach Camp at Newfane New York.  Attending from Zion were Caroline Hartzel and Pastor Kim.  Here are some pictures from that fantastic event.  There were 55 crews working on houses in the Newfane area. The work was hard, but very rewarding.  And deep and lasting relationships were formed, and all came to a closer walk with Christ through the process.  We are recruiting more teens and adults for next year’s trip to North Carolina July 13-19.  Join us for this life-changing experience!

This is our youth group as we were leaving on our journey.

We stayed in the high school at Newfane…and this is the girls’ room in all its glory!

 Competitive volleyball!

Evening and morning program happened in the gym..It got pretty noisy with 470 campers!

One of the worksites….tearing out 250 year old horse hair plaster!  Each of the different worksites had different needs and some were more challening than others.  On this particular site it was a family of 9 living in a very dilapidated house.  The upstairs room had walls torn out and replaced, new bathroom flooring, much outside painting, and a side porch constructed.

Time to rest and have fun.  Each lunchtime we gathered for devotions.
