Wedding at Cana
Visitors: Welcome to our church. Please sign our guest book! If you do not have a church home, we pray that you will find one with us. We have large-print bulletins available, as well as hearing assistance devices. Please ask an usher if you require either of these. Restrooms are located in the church school building. Go through the door next to the choir loft, and straight ahead. We also have restrooms downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Again, exit through the door next to the choir loft, turn left down the hall, and go down the steps.
We Gather To Worship
Prelude
Announcements
Chime Interlude
*Call To Worship
Leader: Your steadfast love, O God, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.
People: Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your judgments are like the great deep; you save humans and animals alike, O God.
Leader: How precious is your steadfast love, O God. All people take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
People: May we feast on the abundance of your house. Amen.
*Hymn: “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God”........................... #43
*Opening Prayer (We light the Christ Candle.)
All: Extravagant God, we gather in this sacred space, guests at a feast of your boundless gifts. Stretch out your canopy of grace, your sheltering wings, that we may delight in your love, which never runs out. Amen.
*Response: “O Love, How Deep, How Broad”………………#193, V6
Prayer Of Confession
All: Hospitable God, we confess that, from time to time, we hold back the very best we have to offer of our resources and ourselves. We may not want to get involved and risk opening our hearts, risk giving away too much, risk encountering you in both the giving and receiving. Encourage us to take a chance – to think and dream outside the lines. And dare us to reach out our hands to both give and receive your outpouring grace. (A time for silent prayers of confession; Music: “Great Is the Lord.”)
Assurance Of God’s Forgiveness
Leader: God is the gracious Host who offers us the very best and gives abundantly so, not only can we count our blessings, but we can share them with all.
Affirmation: “Christ Is the World’s Light”. . .... …………#90, V1
We Hear The Word
Reading Of The Scripture: Isaiah 62: 1-5

Pastoral Prayers And The Lord's Prayer
(Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.)
Our Offering
Offertory
*Doxology: “Praise God from Whom All Blessings”.................... #809
*Prayer Of Dedication
Leader: Come, one and all, to the banquet of God’s generosity where gestures of pure extravagance are encouraged and where God is revealed in an overflowing desire to welcome, embrace, and share. Having feasted on the abundance of God’s love may this offering enable us to join with God in being feeders of the world. L’chayim – to life! Amen.
*Closing Hymn: “Songs of Thankfulness and Praise”... ………#190

Sweatshirts For Philadelphia. The confirmation class will be collecting gently used or new sweatshirts for men or women as well as underwear or socks to be distributed during their Philadelphia trip. The items may be left in their Sunday School room. If any questions, please contact Kendra.
The Profits From Our Community Night At Hoss’s was $171.33. Thank you to everyone who participated. Our next community night will be Monday, April 12.
The Visitation Committee is in need of additional volunteers for 2010. Please join our group by volunteering from one to twelve months either individually or with a partner. For additional information, contact Linda.
The Book Discussion Group will meet on Thursday, February 4, 7:00 p.m. at Zion House. The book being discussed is The Help by Kathryn Stockett. The setting is in Mississippi in 1962. Three unforgettable women come together for a clandestine project that will put them all at risk. And why? Because they are suffocating within the lines that define their town and their times. And sometimes lines are made to be crossed.
The Food Pantry item for January is juice boxes.
Thanks To The Following For Volunteering As Teachers And Shepherds for the month of December: Pastor Kim, Betsy, Dusty, Beth, Jay, and Penny. And as always, thanks to our year-round teachers Ken, Liz, Mandy, and Kendra.

Please Tell Us. Is someone you love hospitalized? Does someone need a visit from the pastor or the visitation team? Do you have a birth, marriage, death or other information you'd like to include in the newsletter or bulletin? Please tell us! Our church office counts on you to keep us informed. Give us a call at the office. Hospital visitors for this month are listed with the lay ministers in this bulletin and in the monthly newsletters.
If You Have A Need For Prayer, please remember that we have a prayer chain available. Please call Liz; she will activate the chain for you. You may also submit a prayer request to the Prayer Center on our Web site. It is located under “Connect.” Our Lord teaches us in Matthew Chapter 18: 19"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
