Trinity Sunday: “Mysterious Encounter”
Visitors: Welcome to our church. If you do not have a church home, we pray that you will find one with us. We have large print bulletins available, as well as hearing assistance devices. Please ask an usher if you require either of these. Restrooms are located in the church school building. Go through the door next to the choir loft, and straight ahead toward the nursery. We also have restrooms downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Again, exit through the door next to the choir loft, turn left down the hall, and go down the steps. Please sign our guest book!

*Opening Prayer
All: Holy, loving God, we come with empty, yet expectant hands. We stumble in our unknowing of you but you lift us up by your tender knowledge of us. Guide and bless us in this time of worship so that we leave this place inspired, affirmed, and renewed. (We light the Christ Candle.)

Prayer Of Confession
All: On this Trinity Sunday when Christian churches across the globe celebrate the mystery of God, we pause to reflect how quick we are to make faith a certainty, and how ready we are to create God in our own particular image. Let us be still in mind and spirit. (A time for silent prayers of confession; Music: “Be Still and Know.”)
Assurance Of God’s Forgiveness
Leader: Friends in Christ, embraced by a love that has no boundaries and set free to be its bearers in the world, be assured of God’s love and mercy. And so in hope and peace we sing:
Affirmation: “O Lord Most High”. . ........ ……………………………………#828
We Hear The Word
Reading Of The Scripture: Isaiah 6: 1-8
A Time For Children

Reading Of The Gospel: John 3: 1-17
Message For This Day
Affirmation Of Faith
All: We affirm and celebrate the mystery God. Creator of vast galaxies, yet still creating with passion in our midst; Source of all life and goodness.
We confess Jesus the Christ, as the Wisdom of God, and embodiment of love. He is our compassionate healer and peace within our restlessness.
And we open ourselves to the Spirit. The spirit joyfully wings before us to lead us on life’s journey; God’s generous gift of comfort and truth.
We are people of the living, saving God, pilgrims in our quest for wholeness and joy. Entrusted with good news and filled with faith and love, we will create communities of welcome and care, we will seek to be lights of justice, peace, and hope.
We Respond To God
*Hymn: “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty”…………………………….#2
Pastoral Prayers And The Lord's Prayer
(Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.)

Read All About It! Please prayerfully consider becoming a sponsor, and adding to Zion’s Sunday School library youth collection! Zion’s CEST is already gearing up for the 2009-2010 Sunday School year, and we are once again asking for help from Zion’s congregation to sponsor the books and/or DVDs that accompany our K-6th Grade Rotational Model Curriculum. Zion’s congregational support for this endeavor last year was overwhelming! If every church family unit sponsored just one book or video, our needs would be quickly met! Such a sponsorship helps us offset our Sunday School budget significantly. Books and DVDs start at $7.00 and vary in price and topic. For your convenience, the sponsor sign-up sheet is now located on a clipboard on the credenza at the rear of the sanctuary. Please submit payment to either Gina or Meagan (checks may be made payable to Zion Sunday School). Thank you in advance for your support, Zion’s Christian Education Steering Team (CEST).
Greeters Needed for June 21, 28; July 5, 12, 19, 26; Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23.
Scripture Setting Sponsors Needed for June 21, 28; July 5, 12, 26; Aug. 9, 16, 30.

Prayers Of The People: You are invited to offer any prayers you wish by writing them on the PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE paper located at the rear of the sanctuary. Please share both joys and concerns. Also, if you would like to share a prayer out loud during the pastoral prayers you are invited to do so during the interval provided.
Please Tell Us. Is someone you love hospitalized? Does someone need a visit from the pastor or the visitation team? Do you have a birth, marriage, death or other information you'd like to include in the newsletter or bulletin? Please tell us! Our church office counts on you to keep us informed. Give us a call at the office. Hospital visitors for this month are listed with the lay ministers in this bulletin and in the monthly newsletters.
If You Have A Need For Prayer, please remember that we have a prayer chain available. Please call Liz; she will activate the chain for you. You may also submit a prayer request to the Prayer Center on our Web site. It is located under “Connect.” Our Lord teaches us in Matthew Chapter 18: 19"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
