On Saturday July 16th there was a special dedication ceremony to celebrate the placement of a State Historical Site marker along rte 233 near Pine Grove Furnace and also to observe the restoration work at the Camp Michaux site itself. The area has markers and a site-guided tour and one can learn about the history of the CCC camp. POW camp, and church camp…the three lives of one very important site. David Smith and the Cumberland County Historical Society took the lead in the restoration but there were many partners, including Zion. Pastor Kim did the invocation, and a crew of our members helped with the clearing last spring. Check it out!
