We thank Thomas Jastermsky and our friends from 1st Congregational Church in Wallingford CT for sharing these photos.  They depict the various ways that the coffee from the Holy Joe’s Cafe program gets used by chaplains serving in frontline units in Iraq and Afghanistan.

On Nov. 14th, 2010, veterans were recognized in a special worship service at Zion. Recently we sent nearly 40 pounds of food, toiletries and other items to an Arendtsville friend stationed in Afghanistan.  He will share the items with his comrades.  We pray for all the troops stationed there, and pray that someday we may know God’s peace on earth.  You may continue to bring in items for a holiday shipment [...]

Zion Hosts Wounded Warriors

On October 23, 2010 we had the honor of hosting a group of wounded warriors through Project Healing Watershttp://www.projecthealingwaters.org/html/contact.html.  We had a great day fly fishing at the Bennett family fishing lodge.
