The Reverend Kim Blocher was called to Zion UCC on September 11, 2005. A native of Adams County, Pastor Kim and her husband, the Reverend Larry Knutson, live on the edge of the Michaux State Forest 8 miles south of Newville. Pastor Kim was ordained in 1995, and taught business at Shippensburg University prior to attending Lancaster Theological Seminary. She has also served as a chaplain in the psychiatric field, and as an Interim Specialist for the United Church of Christ. She is enrolled in a doctoral degree program at Lancaster Theological Seminary and expects to graduate in May of 2009. Pastor Kim holds dear her relationships with the people and the land in Adams County. When not working she can be found gardening, reading, and hiking with Larry and Dominic the dalmatian.
