A “Day-On” for service to the community

On Monday January 17th 2011 Zion participated in the community-wide day of service celebrating the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr.  Annette Ehly, our mission chair, organized a team to go the YWCA and help in the distribution of donated goods to various community service organizations.  Well-organized chaos describes this fun event in which people drop off unwanted household items that get sorted and offered to the agency representatives.  It takes some salesmanship, but our household goods table managed to find good homes for almost all of our items. We thank our participants:  Annette, Dick Radcliff, Donna Miller, Kathy Fissel, Dawn Cutshall, Sue Leedy, Carey Ehly, Kim Blocher, Heather Matthews and the twins, Gertie Peters, and Tom Deloe.
